2010 Season - Week 16
Wayne’s Big Weekend
With his best player Andre Johnson out injured Wayne still put together the sixth highest ever weekly total as he scored 64 points. That’s the seventh Hall of Fame visit this season and Wayne’s 10th tie-ing him with Johnnie for most ever. More importantly it puts him in with a chance of his fourth Papas Fritas Trophy as he sits 19 points behind leader Johnnie and 10 behind Chief. At the bottom of the table both AP and H scored well for the second consecutive week and put added pressure on George who is now 14 points behind AP and safety with H a further 10 points ahead. In the Conference David S looks to have joined Mark in a safe Promotion spot but Ron’s poor week (11 points) and Dave G’s big week (32 points) means Ron holds the third promotion spot by a slender 6 points.
Playing For Something
As we head into the last weekend of the season many teams will rest players so it’s important to know who are still playing for a play-off position. Those teams are most highly motivated so I hope your BUMS players play for one of the 9 teams that still have something big to play for, that’s Pittsburgh and Baltimore (both can win the AFC North), Indianapolis and Jacksonville (both can still win the AFC South, the other is finished), Atlanta and New Orleans (both can still win the NFC South) and Green Bay, NY Giants and Tampa Bay (one will be the final NFC Wildcard). St Louis play Seattle in the Sunday Night game to decide the NFC West but this features only 3 BUMS and Craig, Cheryl and Dave G will have their fates sealed well before the 1.20 (GMT) Monday morning kick-of time.
NFL Playoffs
Congrats to AFC East Champions New England and AFC West Champions Kansas City. Pittsburgh, Baltimore and New York Jets are also in with the South winner (either Indi or Jacksonville taking the final AFC spot). Philadelphia are NFC East champs and Chicago NFC North. Atlanta and New Orleans are also in as will be the winner of the St Louis Seattle NFC West decider. The final wild card spot goes to either, Green Bay if they win, NY Giants if they win and Green Bay lose or Tampa Bay if Green Bay and NY lose and Tampa win. If all 3 lose Green Bay will back into the postseason.
Players on Injured Reserve
Before week 17 H has replaced Austin Collie with Packer’s wide receiver James Jones and Cheryl replaced kicker Matt Prater with Raven Billy Cundiff. All Week 17’s games will be on Sunday at 1pm, 4pm and 8.20pm EST so I need your changes by Sunday 4pm GMT.
BUMS on Seats
With the Sunday Night game having no impact on the BUMS all are welcome to BUMS HQ from 6pm for two games that will seal everyone’s fate in the 2010 BUMS. There are 8 early games (featuring 62 BUMS players) and 7 late games (featuring 60) so I hope you can come and stay until midnight when the second games finish. Meantime Happy New Year.
